This one - Baby's 1st Christmas - is for a local client and has the baby's name (Hannah Fay) engraved on back. It's finished off with a lovely little enameled jingle bell.

Behind the Scenes - Wonder Woman Inspired Armor Ring

From the cutting of the metal to the finished product, here's a quick look at what goes in to the making of our popular Wonder Woman inspired armor ring.

These rings were customized specifically to my clients request and personalized with Greek along the lower right side of the band.  A single crossed arrow pattern appears above the triangle cut out.

This ring is currently available in our Etsy Shop and will soon be added to our brand new website as well.

Across the Miles - His + Hers Latitude Longitude Cuff Bracelets

His + Hers personalized latitude longitude cuff bracelets; a long distance relationship was never closer.

The concept is simple...she wears the skinny cuff which is engraved with HIS location, and he wears the wide cuff engraved with HER location.  The GPS / latitude longitude coordinated appear hidden on the INSIDE of the cuffs for your eyes only, while the outside features a modern textured finish.

The NEW face of MerCurios

I've been neglecting the blog lately and I'm sorry.  We've had lots going on over here at MerCurios HQ and unfortunately - being a one woman show - the blog had to take a back seat.

Now that things have settled down and we are back on track, I thought I'd share the NEW face of MerCurios - our new Logo! 

While I love, love, love our original MerCurios logo - it has been with us since 2003 - I felt it was about time we had a facelift -- something to bring MerCurios into the current moment and reflect the mood of the brand...

Modern, Ethereal, Chaotic (of course!), Organic, Industrial & Raw

Our good friend Jenn over at SocialPop Marketing redesigned it for us. What do you think? It was really hard for me to decide on the colors & I almost went with black and gold. 

In the end I chose to go with blue and green. I found the colors very soothing, and appealing to the eye. As as with everything MerCurios there is some symbolism involved...

The blue represents the ocean, the ebb and flow of the tides as such is life, and the green represents prosperity, of course.

The Lego Story

We are HUGE Lego fans in our home. I've lost count of all the Lego sets Gabriel has in his collection - God only knows if he has all the respective pieces too.  

If Gabe isn't building, rebuilding or creating (he's very good at building from his imagination) then he's scouring You Tube for Lego Reviews.  Not too long ago while perusing reviews, we stumbled across this video on the Lego Feed - I enjoyed it so much that I just had to share it.

I love anything and everything that has a positive message.  Without giving away the movie

is what I walked away with.  That and, Keep the Faith, and always follow your intuition too.

What an inspiring story to say the least.  It's no wonder Lego is as successful as it it!

Daily Adventures - Crabs at the Beach Today

Chewy and I went down to the harbor this afternoon for a quick walk while my rings were in the tumbler.  Apparently, It's mating season for the Horseshoe Crab - who knew!  There were quite a few at the shore today, and I can't remember the last time I saw a Horseshoe Crab down at Harborfront Park in Port Jeff. It was quite nice.

Christmas Bells, those Christmas Bells

For my Aunt Eleanor who called each and every time Charlie Brown was on T.V. so Gabriel could watch it.  Whether it was Christmas, Halloween, Valentines Day or Snoopy Come Home, we could count on Aunt Ele's phone call.  I miss those calls...

From what I understand, Mr. Rowan taught my grandfather the floor covering trade. He started out making $.50 can hour in 1945.  He moved his family [back home] to Ridgewood, NY, and in 1970 started his own business: "O.J. DiMola Floor Covering" 

...years later when I started my career in the fashion industry, he was very proud to tell me how he did all the floors in Mr. Bergdorfs home (of the retail chain Bergdorf Goodman) back in TX.
